Landgraf pours a crystal clear light gold body with a little bit of a brass cast to it. The head is a creamy white; holding fairly well and leaving some nice thin rings of lacing and smears of tiny spots behind.
The aroma expresses a combination of basic golden malt with some dull hops. Fortunately, a hint of light apple helps to give it some character. The flavor is as might be expected given the aroma. It’s a basic Euro lager with a median bitterness. The dull hops are basically grassy and herbal, offering little flavor other than to just balance the (also dull) malt.
In the mouth it’s delivers a medium-light body with a moderate carbonation that leaves it delicately tingling and smooth.
Overall: a very basic European lager that’s probably not worth trying.
Schankbier. This is a style that has sadly nearly disappeared. Between 2.5 and 3.5% alcohol, it seems to have been replaced by the Radler, a mix of lemonade and beer.
